Ripley Introduces the WS 5A-DA Adjustable End Stripper
New ergonomic wire stripper has removable drill adapter to easily and safely end strip primary cable

Cromwell, CT – Ripley’s UtilityTool division is pleased to introduce the WS 5A-DA Adjustable End Stripper.

The WS 5A-DA has all the same features as the UtilityTool WS 5A but adds a removable 3/8 inch drill adapter allowing the tool to be driven by an electric or battery operated power drill saving the lineman or contractor from injury due to repeatable motion. A guarded cutting blade contained in specially sized bushings for different sizes of cable also helps to prevent operator injury.

The WS 5A-DA strips XLPE, polyethylene and EPR insulation up to 400 mils thick on 600 volt to 35kv cables. The WS 5A-DA is ideal for primary URD cable. An adjustment knob allows for easy setting of the strip length from .625 inches (15.9 mm) up to 2.5 inches (63.5 mm) maximum. The tool also accepts UtilityTool’s SW-2 ratchet wrench for leverage.

The removable drill adapter is available separately to be used with all WS 5A strippers but tools purchased prior to December 2005 may require a retrofit. Please contact Ripley Customer Service for more details.
